Looking down on the 130 year old Tibetan style Catholic church in Baihanlou. The village of Baihanlou, located in the upper reaches of the Nujiang Valley, is a small Catholic settlement.  First converted by French missionaries in the late 1800s, the residents have struggled against the local government to maintain the right to practice their Catholic religion.  The settlement is known for it?s 130 year old church, built in Tibetan style, which is finally getting a much need renovation with money donated by both visitors to Baihanlou and by other Catholic religious groups in China.
