He has arrived at Aravind through its outreach program and received a surgery at the Aravind Camp Hospital in Madurai, India. The Aravind hospital was founded in 1976 with the focused mission of Eliminating Needless Blindness. Aravind, since then, has grown in to the largest and most productive eye care facility in the world. In 2007 over 2.3 million out patients were treated and over 270,444 surgeries were performed.
