A worker walks across a green at the King Valley Golf Course in Anji, Zhejiang province, China. The King Valley Golf Course recently went through a transformation from a championship golf course to farmland as the government re-claimed the land for the people in a very public display of government power in November 2009. The government's claim was that the course obtained the land from the farmers illegally. The situation is still unclear. Golf course development in China is officially illegal and yet courses are still being built throughout the country, in a process whereby farmers are being removed off arable land and offered jobs to pick weeds off fairways.
