Zhu LaiQuan (right) has Hyperthyroidism and Diabetes. Both of his diseases are manageable but he can not afford proper health care, and therefore remains too weak to work and support his family. A former taxi driver, Zhu Lai Quan (right) has tried to return to driving but was forced back into hospital because of his diseases. He is currently supported by his wifeís mother who is a business woman. His wife Tong Jinmei (left) prepares lunch. Health care in urban China varies drastically. Those who can afford it can find some of the best treatment in the world, while those who can not afford it are left financially crippled by inadequate insurance policies. Rural health care is at least a decade or more behind.
